In 2025, I decided to update my website. But I’m one person running a business, I always put clients’ work first, and accessibility can feel overwhelming… so now it’s 2026.
To address my problem, I considered these solutions:
- Work on everything I know I should do first to make this website perfect and then launch it.
- Hire and direct a large team to create my website.
- Use what I know from work with clients, do the work myself in phases, and document what I learn.
I decided on #3: to apply what I know from work, prioritize progress over perfection, learn more, do a soft launch, ask for feedback, improve over time, and document the process.
Over the days, weeks, and months to come, you will see improvements and other changes. And you will see my blogs about the resources I used, decisions I made, people and references, other websites, templates and widgets, choices and changes, and my reasons.
You might laugh. You might shake your head. But I hope to (a) continue to learn, (b) improve my website, and (c) encourage others to make the world more accessible in any way they can.
